1. Will I need to have a Google Maps API key (for embedding widgets using Google Maps)?

No, our widgets are contained in an iframe and as such execute directly from our servers. Thus using our own Google API key.

2. Can I customise the widget's fonts, colours, borders and backgrounds etc. to make it blend in with my website's colour scheme and design?

Yes, to some extent. You are (currently) only able to customise the outer most border and the font used for "Terms & Conditions" and "Get this widget". The HTML element containing the widget will have the CSS class name "pf-widget-container" and the footer will have the class name "pf-widget-footer". To define custom styles for these two elements just create a style tag on your page, e.g.:

3. How can I specify parameters to be used by the widget, e.g. address, suburb, state or property attributes?

All widget configuration options and available parameters are listed under Step 1 "Additional Configuration". The configuration options will be passed to the widget loader as follows:

The best way to populate these field dynamically is by server-side code, such as PHP, JSP or ASP.NET, e.g.:

Note: Invalid parameters, e.g. unit instead of Unit, will be ignored, and the user asked to confirm the auto-populated values.

4. Can I have several Pricefinder widgets embedded on the same page of my site/blog?

Yes. Just tick the "I already have (an)other Pricefinder widget(s) embedded on the page" before generating the widget code.
Alternatively, remove the line <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.pdslive.com.au/pds-widgets-1.0.0/Scripts/widgets/pf-widget-loader.js?key=YOUR_PRICEFINDER_API_KEY"></script> from all but the first widget on the same page.

5. Can I place the widget in a tab or div that is not visible during the initial pageload?

Yes. If the widget is placed in a div that is not visible by default, javascript is unable to calculate the height of the iframe, result in a height of 0. You need to defer initialisation until the element is in view, e.g. using jQuery this code looks something like this:

This waiting-until-visible functionality is not built into the widget loader code as we want to keep the loader-code as lean as possible and because most javascript libraries have their own visiblity-check functionality.
